I promise I don’t smell, and I don’t stay up all night asking inane questions (I save those for GQ) and I don’t have gas, and I’m very quiet and polite and nice. I do, apparently, talk in my sleep every now and then. :o
And, for reference (in case there’s rules at the pension): I’m a boy Doper.
I never heard back from that hotel, so I need to do some more searching, or take you up on the garage offer. I don’t mean to impose, though, and having the car at the hotel would be even more convenient, so I’ll keep on searching for now.
Tom, which one of these is better, locationwise: Ibis City or Ibis Smichov? Both have parking and decent rates, so I’m cool with either one. But if one’s in a better spot than the other, just let me know.
Unfortunately the Ibis Smichov is not really convenient considering your requirements. Tram to metro to downtown. ‘Popping’ back to the hotel would take 30 minutes.
Semi-bad news: My bro-in-law got transferred to Budapest for 4 months and is taking the wife and kid. While they are away the landlord has decided to do some needed repairs and will require the garage for the trailer and cement mixer…
But, I forgot to say that the pension josephina has parking inside the fence, so even if you don’t stay there you should be able to park, since others will be there.
Well, I am off tomorrow for a job interview in Manchester, wish me luck! I’ll be back on Saturday.
What are the plans for the actual PragueDope meet-up? Shall we do a summary of when we arrive and where we’re staying?
Curly Chick and I arrive at different times on Thursday and we’re staying at the Central Hotel.
I’m coming late Friday afternoon in the Coldfirewagon. I’m staying at the Pension if there’s someone to split a double room with, but if there isn’t, I’ll find myself a hostel to save money.
I hoped all Dopers would stay in Pension Josephina, and it looks liek my wish is granted. From the pictures on the Josephina site I have seen, it looks really nice and comfortable. German cleanliness, spaciousness and sturdy breakfasts (three choices of Wurst, minimum) combined with Prague’s elegance.
Tom, are you in a position to check with the hostel if there’s still a double room available, and if I can park inside the gates? If not, I’ll call them tonight.
Yeah, I can do it…when to when exactly? 22 to 25th?
curly chick just dropped out for family reasons, so there is space…Actually, I think maybe we need an update so we know who/what/where.
So far:
The “yesses”, pt II
Coldfire and Heloise
Maastricht and Jack
wolfstu
Did I miss anyone? Small group, but we’ll have fun. wolfstu, if no one else pipes in soon you can try hostel@travellers.cz for a hostel downtown. I tried finding you one located near everyone else in Prague 6, but they are all closed now (student dorms)(I tried Orlik, Masarykova and Dzban, so skip those).
Should we start a new post to get the last-minute folk’s attention?
Eh? What?
I think you must be mistaking me for someone else - I am still going to Prague, just not staying in the pension. Kferr and I are staying in the Central hotel in Praha 1, but we do want to catch up with all of you at the weekend and join in the general goings-on.
