I think the Borgata’s weight policy could do with a bit of tweaking, but I don’t have a problem with it in principle. These women aren’t regular waitresses, but walking sex symbols who serve drinks. If they have to comply with strict regulations re. weight gain that the average waitress doesn’t have to, well, their tips are probably much greater than that of the average waitress, too.
This is totally TMI, but it’s not uncommon for a woman to experience both water gain and constipation leading up to her menses. I weighed myself one morning when I got my period when I was about twenty years old or so and weighed about 125 lbs… I shed 5 1/2 lbs. over a four-hour interval (much of that spent sitting on the toilet), or some 4-5% of my body weight! :eek:
Personally, I’d be more upset about workplaces imposing inflexible policies limiting their employees’ bathroom breaks.
