'Cause Coldy Said I Could: Cinco de Mayo Parade

I wanted to post about the fact that I’m going to be in the Wells Fargo contingent of the St. Paul, MN Cinco de Mayo parade tomorrow… And now I have! Imagine that!

Anyway… I’m not marching, either. “How can you be in a parade but not march?” you ask.

I’m riding in the Wells Fargo stagecoach.

What a super-geek.

How fun! I was in a Cinco de Mayo parade when I was in elementary school. That wasn’t nearly as cool as riding in the Wells Fargo coach. I was stuck in the back of a big pickup truck with 30 other kids. My parents got a picture of the truck as it went by and you can’t even tell which one of the kids is me.

Hey Grace: Where did ya live at the time?

No fair. We don’t have Cinco de Mayo parades here. All we have are a bunch of frat boys getting really drunk and harassing people and all the stores are out of Corona and limes.

I want to live somplace fun.

Austin, TX. I went to an elementary school (Mollie Dawson) with mostly hispanic students. Every year they had a big Cinco de Mayo program. I was always in the mexican dances and one year we got to be in the parade. I wonder if they still have them?
