Cause of body heat, yet no fever

I moved into a really big 5000 sq ft, 3 level brick home…recently finished the lowest level, and pretty much moved in to exclusively ( i live alone). The lowest level is a split level; on a hill, so on 3 sides its mostly underground, with hard floors.

It has dual heating systems…all floors have LPG gas forced air, but the lowest level and garage have a huge hot water closed loop heating system, that runs hot water under the floors…every report i read said this underground system is most efficient and most comfortable, and cleanest option. So i finally activated it 2 months ago…

May be unrelated, but it seems my body temp is uncomfortably warm…yet no headache nor fever ( i almost never get either, and rarely catch a cold). My feet feel the warmest ( always wear socks) and in general, my skin all over feels warm…except forehead, its normal. The catch is, the house feels very cool, which is the way i prefer it. Gauges show 65 on 1st level, 60 on upper two.

Is it just coincidental, and there is something else wrong with me? What else would cause a high body temp, that interrupts sleeping? No headaches. All else seems fine. Had this before when married to a 90 lb tiny woman who ran the heat up to upper 70s, but i have since removed that Red X as a root cause…what other PFMEAs should i chart in my quest to find the Green Y?

Note…the lowest level under floor hot water heating, has its own temp control located on same level…the other two Upper floors also have their own independant lpg gas forced air temp controllers. So the upper floors do not totally rely on lowest floor heat to gradually work its way up, and distort the temp readings and controls.

The middle floor gas heater control, also controls the lowest floors gas forced heat, so sometime the low get gets dual heat at same time

When in hotels on frigid nights, i can never get my room down to 60f…and now moSt hotels dont have windows that open…so i often have the ac running when it frigid out.

6 ft 2. 240. Lbs. no known health issues…ever
I have my home heat set very low, as opposed to off, since i travel, and dont know if pipes will freeze (esp that maze of under floor hot water pipes) while i am gone…think i will sleep in my hammock tonight under the stars…

If you were female, I’d suggest that you were peri-menopausal.

My guess is the under floor heat, originates and keeps heat at ground level, that slowly rises…whereas forced air blasts random surges of hot air that targets the celings.
And i should retarget at 55 degrees for same effect as 63 forced air temp?

Big worry that if i got much below 55 setting and we get a blast of -20 temps while i am gone for 2wks, i will have frozen pipes .plus IIRC, these digital controllers do not allow any heat nor ac setting below 60.
Any takers?

Why not just take your socks off, and sleep with no covers?

Kept socks on for yrs, after carpet firm told me bare feet displace body oils into carpet.

Also, maybe cuz im a neat freak, i sleep with a thin comfort security blanket, like on Charlie Brown…i put it on top of my always made bed…that way, when i wake up, all i hafta to is quickly fold it…bed is still made. I do sense that the house is very cool, but my exterior surfaces think otherwise. I was fine until i started using the under floor system… I feel the floor heating is broiling me…but its so inexpensive, quiet, and clean…maybe i will just start hanging from the cooler ceiling at night like a bat…yeh, thats the ticket

Keep slippers beside the bed? You’ll feel much cooler without the socks, I think.

As far as the blanket, swap it for a thin sheet?

Wait! … what? You sleep on TOP of the made bed?
Doesnt the blanket/duvet/bedspread get all yukky from night farts, drool, wrinkles and body oils?
and then you have to wash those every few days to freshen them?
Seems easier to wash the sheets instead of all the other stuff to keep things fresh.

I understand about the ease of making the bed tho. Thats why I just use a duvet that has a removable cover on it, and eliminate the top sheet. Fluff and go.

bedspread does have removable / washable duvet cover.

security blanket is king size ( on a queen bed) so I wrap myself 360 degrees in it. I am not in direct contact with bedding.

dailed the subfloor setting down today…seems much better..will know tonight

seems like it would be worse without socks, as the hard floors on lowest level retain warmth for a long time. barefoot would seem to transfer more of that right right into me…aren’t feet the radiators of the human body?

Do you have a thermometer to take your body temp with? If you do take your temp and see if you do have a higher temp or you’re imagining it.

And I agree if you’re feeling over heated take off your socks. Not understanding why that would be difficult.
