Sadly I think Twisty and I are out too. 
Since there have been only negative responses since the last update, I’d like to say that I’m still going to come. But I think I’ll wait a little longer before I make a reservation. Even if I’m too late and can’t find anything, I could still drive home at night.

I am so totally going to be there. Everyone keeps telling me what a great place Maastricht is and although I’m Dutch, I’ve never myself given the place a half-decent look over. What better opportunity then to be shown the place by a user whose nickname is Maastricht?
Additionally, I would like to point out/warn that:
- I will be bringing a guitar and am not afraid to use it
- I love being disagreed with
- MaastrichtDope may well be the absolutely only and last opportunity you’ll have to prevent me from becoming a subscribed member and haunt the board for years to come
- have an interesting theory on mental orgasms that I can be persuaded to share after a few drinks
- you’ll probably learn that part of the previous sentence is a lie (the drinks part)
- I have a tendency to come up with plausible but not necessarily true explanations for everything that is put in front of me
- I am a totally disagreeable person to be with and in fact everyone I have ever met absolutely hates my guts
- I will, in case the above does not turn out to be true for all company present, start speaking RP English to disgust those last few who have too good hearts to hate me already after 1 second.
After that, I’m sure everyone is looking forward to meeting me as much as I am looking forward to meeting all of you.

Arwin, I’ve reserved a room in a B&B just one street from the station for you. Guitars are welcome. 
I’ve called a few B&B’s today and they are filling up fast. Still available, in good B&B’s in a good part of town, are:

Hmm…sorry, but there’s less then a week to go, and there have been no reservations yet. With all the reservations I have to make, (restaurants, B&B’s, tours) that’s just too few people to make it work next weekend.
So sorry, but I’m I’m cancelling the weekend of 22-23 January.. I’ll try again in May, when the whole city is dressed in fruittrees blossoming and early roses blooming.

I knew there was something I forgot :smack: Actually … I forgot to cancel since my job has again gone from vaguely busy to “let’s give her the most insane travel schedule we can think of” (it tends to do that and I’ve had to cancel all Dopefests so far - I so wanted to go to Prague )
Anyway. I seem to actually be able to take vacation days in May - what date did you have in mind?
Oh, I should do more vanity searches, how did I miss this? Well, right now is a bad time for me anyway. Even May could be troublesome, as I’m finishing up university on the 6th of June. We’ll see, now that I’m subscribed to this thread, I’ll keep it in mind at least.
