CBEscappe is unfamiliar with honesty

Under what terms would they be permited? When you’re not to busy sucking the shit flecks off monty’s redneck ass could you clarify that?

If you people find it so offensive, why hasn’t anyone complained about this?

There wouldn’t be any kind of double standard amongst open and fair minded dopers, would there?

::runs up and kicks CBE in the balls::

Just because.

If he won’t accept being called a racist, certainly he has to accept that he craftily uses, what was it…oh yes: “willful ignorance” as a tool to make rash genralizations when it suits him, and then to turn around and demand hard certain facts of others. Then when presented with refutation by people smarter and more reasonable than himself, he pulls other cites out of context, improperly interpreted to make his argument.

So, if not a racist, then surely at the very least a muckraking jerk.

I’ll hang up now and await the very best he has to offer.

So, Doors, what’s his singing voice sound like?

Wow, thin-skinned, aren’t you? It’s not my fault your stupid racist, don’t take it out on me.

But for your edification, there are a few contexts in which those terms would be permitted. One would be if it was used in a quotation (This guy said, “I hate niggers and webacks,” so I stopped talking to him) or in an abstract sense (What do you guys think of the word nigger?). It would not be permitted as a direct, personal insult (You fucking nigger) or as a slur against a populace (I don’t travel to Mexico because it’s full of stupid wetbacks). See how simple a distinction that is? Even a dumb racist like yourself can figure it out.

They are never permitted in reference to anybody that you are speaking of or to. They are only permitted in the context of a quote, and I’d be careful about that.

Since you obviously never read it, here are the Pit Rules:

Needless to say, and as I’m sure you already know, those words are quite clearly hate speech, and therefore unacceptable.

If you can’t handle that, you are more than welcome to take it up with the people in charge, although that will only end in tears for you.

Because that particular poster isn’t using hate speech against others. Unlike you.

Actually I saw no need to pit you, I was just coming in for the joke.

By dumb coincidence I actually meant to post
“My bet is he doesn’t show up at all.”
I left out the n’t by stupidity and then you proved me instantly wrong anyway.

You probably would have been better off not showing up however. But in all honesty this should be interesting at least.

You are correct that Gringo doesn’t carry nearly the negative connotation as some other words I won’t bother typing, but you were using it in a very negative context in the other thread.

Not that he needs my defending but FinnAgain is hardly a pussy, he is willing stand toe to toe with anyone on the board from what I have seen.

It’s not too late, just back out of the pit and let this shit blow over.

Jim

Probably because he has exactly 38 posts, he’s been here approximately a month, and I’ve never seen him post before.

Dude, you’re being intentionally obtuse. It’s really ridiculous.

It was either hilarious or depressing (depending on one’s viewpoint) to see CB holding forth on his statistical “proof” of American racism, and pointing proudly to the evidence of 13 million+ hits when Googling “racism” and “United States” (as if raw word associations are proof of anything whatsoever).

But if we accept this sort of thing as meaningful, then what happens if one Googles “Mexico” and “racism”? One gets 3.8 million hits. Since Mexico’s population is about a third that of the U.S., adjusting those hits on a per capita basis means that Mexico must be 85% as racist as the United States. Hardly something to be proud of.

There are also quite a few people who think Mexico’s problems with racism are as bad as those of the U.S., compounded by refusal to face the situation.

Another voice.
More opinion on the subject.

Might be cause for reflection, a little humility, and less shouting on the part of 'ol CB.

Bullshit.

I should amend that to say “that I’m aware of”. I can’t be bothered to go look up his/her posts right now.

I’m not involved, and I’m not going to get involved. But if you can’t see there’s a difference there, then you really have no place here. Lemme 'splain:

  1. He is using it to refer to himself, not someone else.
  2. He has *38 *posts. Chances are no one even knows him. He’s a lurker.
  3. He’s not making a nuisance of himself.

Anyway, how rude of you, to drag a lurker into the limelight when he clearly doesn’t like it there?

I dunno if you are making a nuisance of yourself. I didn’t follow the threads. But this little argument of yours is very childish.

Point me to his/her posts that contain hate speech.

You made the assertion, you back it up, Sparky.

He meant the use of Gringo in the name.
He is either failing to understand the difference between somebody using the word to describe themselves with no connotation and using in post where he is deriding the group of people he was referring to as Gringos.

Jim

You people? What a racist! I suppose if I said you people are just too damn intellectually incapable to understand the very basic immigration law you people are breaking, I’d be a racist? You people are idiots. The lot of you people.

Or after knifing someone. I hear you people are good at that. (Hey, I’m just following the parameters he put into play.)

Google Ad:

Hard to Teach Kids

Google knows.

I know that. I was waiting to see if he’d come back and say, “Why, all of them! The word “gringo” is in every one of this person’s posts! How racist!”

Or some such bullshit.

That’s Funny I got
“Humor Writing Workshops”
Which this could alomst be.

Google Ads is having a good day.

Some of you people are way to thin skinned.

And while we’re at it, how about that cite for how I’m bigoted? Still waiting on that, but I know that I’ll be waiting a looooong time since “racist” is code for “doesn’t agree with CB’s absurd formulations”

Oh, and JR, thanks. I’d wager that my willingness to go toe to toe sometimes stands me in bad stead as it is
