Also, I used to agree about Adam West on Family Guy, but now I think that he’s so out of it that he’s not in on the joke.
I remember that episode. Seems like a fiting tribute to Adam West.
Maybe Shatner got tired of doing appearances in star trek conventions and was cranky
I just thought he was being silly.

You have to like someone who jumps into the joke with both feet.
I was going by the telecast - I thought it stopped being silly after the first time and got creepy - and the story told by the reporter he allegedly groped and assaulted after the roast.
I looked up the Halle Berry acceptance speech on youtube. What I found was pretty funny, but unfortunately, the video is split into parts and even though they are numbered consecutively 1 through 7, there seems to be a gap between part 6 and 7–like there should be a part “6.5” so to speak.
Anyone know if the complete video is available somewhere?

Captain Kirk used to own a Jaguar. I used to be a Jaguar technician. Yup I was his Jag’s Scotty. (ask me about some of the warrenty claims we wrote up)
One time his car needed a turn signal switch. He decided to wait for the car. I grabbed the part and a screwdriver and started going to town. He and I made idle chit chat during the process.
At one point he complimented me on my mechanical abilities.
I thanked him and said that if I got any better he would have to hire me to work on his star ship.
It got real quiet in the car, and I swear the temp went down at least 10 degrees.
I got the impression he was very pissed.
It’s too bad he was pissed, but I congratulate you. If I had the chance to say something like that to William Shatner, I know I would- I’d regret it for the rest of my life if I didn’t.
