Celebrities who look like they're from a differen era.

Are they said not to get along?

[QUOTE=mac-bolan00]
as an aside, which present-day actress do you think looks best in a 30s charslton outfit drinking champagne with confetti showering her, and dancing all night with tuxedos?

Cynthia Nixon is one.

Casper Van Dien could have played the lead in any Cecil B. Demille epic lookswise; tis a pity he couldn’t act the role of a corpse even if he was in a coma at the time.

I always thought Gwyneth Paltrow really got the late 1930’s look right in Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow[sup]*[/sup], but sadly missed the attitude.

  • Jude Law was probably okay, too.

He got over it.

Dita von Teese certainly has marketed herself to the 1930s glam Hollywood era.

Someone once remarked The Band was the only rock group that could open for Abraham Lincoln.

Marion Cotillard. See Midnight In Paris.

I always got 1970s vibe from her. She would look perfect in a Mini skirt and Go Go boots.

Katie Holmes, though I’m maybe getting suckered by her knack for the retro hairstyle.

Add Selma Blair for that.

Jeez, when did she turn into Ziggy Stardust?

I guess ol’ Casper is having trouble getting steady work. Further down the page of photos, he’s got some “adult industry” snapshots.

I can easily see Katy Perry in a 1940’s pin-up ad…wearing a little sailor suit, giving a salute, with the words “Go get 'em, boys!” or “Remember what you’re fighting for!” underneath.

I’ll be in my bunk.

These pictures all demonstrate why Katy Perry is from another time.
These two may explain why you can picture Katy Perry in a sailor suit.

The first person I thought of when I saw this thread was Patrick Fischler (he played Jimmy Barrett on Mad Men). He’s got the face you’d expect to see when going through old high school year books.

Leonardo DiCaprio should have lived back in the days of high waist-ed pants and fedoras, maybe the forties?

Aeris – we’re getting multiple reports of malware, so I deleted the links. See if you can find the pix elsewhere.

I’ve always thought Bruno Mars looks like a 1920’s jazz pianist.
He doesn’t belong here, he’s way too smooth:

Bruno

Aeris, I hope you can find those Katy Perry links - I totally agree with your assertion!

Bruno Mars has always reminded me of Lando Calrissian.

Steve Buscemi looks like he could be out of a Jimmy Cagney film as one of his cronies.

adrien brody has always had a 1930s ray bolger-ish vibe for me.

An Entertainment Weekly writer described her as “the love child of Peter Lorre and Bettie Davis”.
