Porn star Linda Lovelace (of “Deep Throat” fame, or infamy if you prefer.)

T.E. Lawrence - the real-life subject of the film “Lawrence of Arabia.”

And there is Tim Horton driving back to Buffalo in his Pantera on the QEW after playing a game in Toronto.

Mike Hawthorne won the 1958 Formula One championship and retired, in part due to the death of his friend Peter Collins in the German Grand Prix. Six months later he died in a car accident, racing a friend at 80 mph on wet roads.

Baseball manager Billy Martin died in a car crash returning from a bar on Christmas Day, 1989. I always remember WNBC interrupted the opening of “The Sound of Music” for the news bulletin.
