Dagnabbit! I thought I heard ol’ Flash howling…
This is truly sad. Stan Freberg can no longer be accused of being too loud, man, too loud.
I don’t see myself in the standings. AFAIK I am still a perfect 0 0 0.
English Professional Poker Player David “Devilfish” Ulliot has mucked. 39 points of Dead Money in the pot.
I learned of his cancer a few weeks ago and was on my 2016 short list.
[crumples up post it note and throws it garbage.]
Swampbear is even more perfect; all but one of his picks are healthier than they have ever been in their lives and the odd man out is still “just peachy”.
I hear he may be upgraded to “fine and dandy” any day now.
Ion Trewin, Administrator of the Booker Prize Foundation has died at 71 of cancer.
29 points for CAMJAY77 and me
Condolences to the family, friends and to all those who love great literature. To quote a friend from facebook today (unrelated to this death) “Fuck Cancer”
Actor Geoffrey Lewis has died. I remember him for frequently co-starring with Clint Eastwood, but he had many other roles. One was as an American diplomat. Samuel Gummere, in The Wind and the Lion.
Saying it with XKCD feeling: Fuck Cancer.
He was a very good character actor. Until I saw Jim Beaver post about his death I had no idea he was the father of Juliette Lewis. I don’t know how I missed that.
You know those “Keep Calm and Carry On” posters (and shirts, and coffee cups, etc.), and all their many variations? I saw someone wearing a shirt that said, “Keep Calm and Fuck Cancer.”
I wish I could have that shirt, except I couldn’t wear it in from of my mother. She has lung cancer.
Richard Dysart finally follows Rosalind down the elevator shaft.
Another actor I only knew about through MST3K bites the dust (Robert Z’Dar was the other). I have much hope for Peggy Webber to fill out the trifecta.
Former major league pitcher Jose Capellan has struck out at 34.
I’ll remember him from L.A. Law, but he was also in The Falcon and the Snowman (1985).
Richie Benaud, cricketer and commentator, dies at 84
Lauren Hill has left the court one last time, at 81 points. She was truly insiprational.
Unfortunately for me (and a couple other people), this pick was disallowed. It was 81 points.
Why would this be disallowed? The rule says
under age 18 at death, 'cause we’re macabre but not THAT macabre.
Those 81 points are good, if anyone had her.
eta: unless you’re referring to rule 3g?
