Congrats RTF !
I should have had faith in Bill and promoted him off my shortlist and onto my main list this year, but I thought he was doing well. :smack:
I hear you RTF about really liking him. Having someone on your list means you keep track of them and get to know them and it really makes you conflicted when you do get points. Such is the cost of being near the top of the death pool.

Well. since I have now gone over 2 years with no points, I will try very hard not to be conflicted if I ever get points. Not that I am eager for my picks to die, but really, what are they waiting for???
And because being moved down in stats makes me check on how my list is doing … it seems a number of folks (including me and RTFirefly ) got some more points and more ambivalent feelings about a really nice guy falling to cancer:
Dave Benton , news anchor, dies of brain cancer at age 52
kayT I have already claimed last place and a goose egg all to myself so tell those slacker celebs of yours to get busy!
No such place. Naismith Memorial Basketball HOF for all basketball. In the US, anyway.

I didn’t really get a chance to know much about him, so I’m not particularly conflicted this time.
So as the comic strip character Lio would say, “There’s Corpses Everywhere! ”

Rob Ford, who’s on at least a few lists (including mine), turns 46 today, and is apparently lucky to have made it this far.
Two weeks [ago], a surgical team operated on Ford at Mount Sinai Hospital for almost 10 hours. They opened his abdomen with two large incisions and removed a rare and aggressive pleomorphic liposarcoma tumour.
Doctors had told Ford that, if surgery was unsuccessful, they could do nothing more to save his life. He still has a battle for long-term survival, and was told to go home and rest until September.
Damn. Another one of mine in the throes of recovery.
He’s hardly out of the woods yet, from the sound of it. And he certainly seems the sort to jeopardize his own recovery by living too fast and hard.
Longtime college basketball coach Bill Foster died yesterday of Parkinson’s disease .
There were two longtime college hoops coaches by that name. This was the one who coached at UNC-Charlotte, Clemson, Miami, and Virginia Tech. The Bill Foster who coached at Rutgers, Duke, South Carolina, and Northwestern is still with us. (To make life interesting, their ACC coaching careers overlapped by several years.)

Twenty players are, I"m sure, following the health of Rob Ford very closely.
carnivorousplant:
I wish him all the best.
Translation: “He’s not on my list.”
And 66 more are rooting for him to hang in there until January!
He’s already on my Short List, so…
Points for twenty players.
For the record, there are more than 86 players in the Pool. Some of us just aren’t on the scoreboard yet. :o
