Yes, but is he really most sincerely dead?
You’ll have to ask the Mayor of Munchkinland.
I dunno.
Does anyone have Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s cell number?
I dunno, 2013 was the first year I even kibitzed.
The question is, if al-Baghdadi gives no evidence of being alive during the remainder of the year, ISIS doesn’t admit to his being dead, and no body turns up, would any other evidence suffice? For instance, if the CIA or DoD says they’re certain he’s dead, would that suffice? How about British intelligence saying that? (Sorry Iran, but whatever makes the cut, you’re well below it.)
Could get interesting.
UK film critic Barry Norman, who had a TV series called Film (insert year here)* for ages has died aged 83.
*since taken over by Jonathan Ross and then Claudia Winkleman
How many of us swiped the pick as I did? If we all have him, we can forget about it.
:dubious:
Well, we don’t all have him - only 19 of us do, and it looks like you and I are the only ones at
or near the top of the leader board who have him. So his death would be a nice leg up for us relative to the rest of the field.
19 out of 160 players have al-Baghdadi…
So much for that idea.
:smack:
RT, Phungi, do you guys keep a database of player’s picks?
Our excellent Death Shroom has a spreadsheet of all the picks, which he’s frequently mentioned his willingness to share. I took him up on this awhile back, so I’ve got a copy.
yes, an Excel spreadsheet/scorekeeper i have cultivated over the years. PM me with an email address and I will be happy to share. I keep it in a shared DropBox folder

He died 2 years ago…
Well worth noting as effectively the British equivalent of Roger Ebert.
The TV film critic of his generation. And why not.
Damn “in-the-old-news” popups. Course, I could have actually read more carefully:smack: In my defense, seeing the name made me think of Diana Rigg from the Avengers and I fogged over.
You only had to look at what you posted, which says, right there up front, that he died in 2015.
Thanks.
Something named “Iraqi News” is saying that al-Baghdadi is dead. Does anyone know if they are reliable?
Yeah, and some of us are still bummed about it. ![]()
I can relate to that! Damn, she was something.
Almost certainly more reliable than World Net Daily. ![]()
Although some of the stories on the site, like “Islamic State prescribes 50 lashes for bringing up Baghdadi’s death” and “Islamic State execute preacher over Baghdadi’s death sermon” paint a picture of an ISIS regime fighting a losing battle to keep a lid on the news - news which would be easy to dispel if al-Baghdadi were alive and in sufficient health to record a 5-second taunt while holding a recent newspaper headline alleging his death.
Still, I’d regard his death as more likely true than false, but not yet certain by any means.
