After having her on my list of since 2014 (with a year off when things were looking up in 2016) journalist Helen Fawkes finally succumbs to her ovarian cancer at age 45. I will miss reading her blog. She really did live her life despite her terminal diagnosis.
So even if he does come back as a zombie, it is a moot point. :smack:
The real question is would he come back as a shuffling original version zombie or one of those remake high-speed-meth zombies?

Sad news. I became a fan of hers from reading her blog when I had her on my list a couple years back.

And so once again the rich get richer.
Wow. That’s cold, man, but points is points, I guess.
How you actually do well is google phrases like “actor/politician/athlete/musician diagnosed with terminal cancer”.
But as a side effect of keeping up to date with your list of ill people you get to find out about these really interesting folks. You listen to music you may never have discovered before. You follow blogs of people who are outside your normal little facebook bubble etc. And you sincerely mourn the passing of these people who have been a small part of your life.

Well, why should you feel defensive? The Death Pool is all about getting points on account of people kicking the bucket.
My 2017 list consists of three terrorists (two of whom are now dead, or at least are being counted as dead :D), and ten people who may well be (or may well have been, in two cases) perfectly nice people whose deaths I’m going to derive (or have derived) some modest pleasure from if and when they boost my score.
We’re all ghouls here. Say it loud, I’m a ghoul and I’m proud!

Be forewarned… my 2017 list was comprised entirely of folks with Stage 4 cancer, 3-4 of whom are now in remission… I didn’t know there was remission from Stage 4 cancer, so there are no guarantees, even with specific targeted search strategies…

For anyone wanting to get a potential “gimme” for next year, John McCain has been diagnosed with a glioblastoma, a particularly aggressive brain cancer.
I have a friend who had one removed within the last year, and even with a successful surgery - which she had - she has about a 5 year lifespan. Sucks to hear it about a 35 year old woman, and I’m not sure that McCain would be able to make it a full 5 years.
