Someone from my 2016 list has died. Jeff Lowe died in August at 67 of a disease similar to ALS. He was a mountain climber and lived a pretty interesting and exciting life.
Andrew Fitzgerald, last surviving member of Coast Guard Rescue Boat 36500 which rescued 32 out of 41 crewman of the SS Pendleton as detailed in the 2009 book and and 2016 movie The Finest Hours.
Boy band member Devin Lima succumbs to cancer, at 59 points for ol’ Happy (and I believe 17 others).

I’m pretty sure my list of immortals had a Thanksgiving feast that consisted of pork tartar, assorted toadstools, cream of hemlock soup, and romaine lettuce. 
Dr. Olivia Hooker, 103, is dead. She was, among many other things, the first black woman to be enrolled on active duty in the US Coast Guard. In 1921, when she was six years old, her mother hid her and her siblings in their house during major racial related violence in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and she is believed to be among the last folks who were survivors of that.
One of my sure things that I thought I would have to carry over to next year.
