Here’s one I didn’t see until today:
Jacqui Saburido, who was disfigured at age 20 after a drunk driver slammed into a car she was riding in, died in April at age 40 after a fight with cancer. Two passengers in the car were killed. Saburido sustained 3rd degree burns over 60% of her body. She was left with no ears, no nose, no eyebrows, no hair, and had over 100 surgeries on her hands and body. She became a poster child for anti-drunk driving, and would go to schools to show students what could happen if they drove while intoxicated.

Jim Fowler has passed away at 87.
Host of Wild Kingdom for many years. You will remember Marlin Perkins saying: “It looked dangerous so we sent Jim on ahead.”
“While I remain in the tiki hut with the native girls who bring me cool tea and bring release to my naked body, Jim will be jumping into the river, hopefully catching a crocodile.”
“When my young assistant Jim was being attacked by the boa constrictor, he felt the squeeze. To be sure your family never feels the squeeze when you die like Jim is going to, here’s a word from Mutual of Omaha…” OK, he never really said that but he could have.
Even as a child I recognized that Jim was a little too dedicated to his TV show than was good for his safety and/or had way too much confidence in Marlin’s good judgment.
