Celebrity Death Pool 2020

Rapper MF Doom dies at 49.

Emily Mitchell, blogger and Instagram “influencer,” died at 36 just before Christmas. She was pregnant with her 5th child.

I’m too lazy to look it up, but how many entries were there for 2020? I want to know how many folks are tied with me for 80th.

There were 99 entries.

Sometime this evening or tomorrow I will give out the awards officially, but it does seem Loach has won this year!

I have zero idea who MF Doom is, and given that he’s apparently been dead since October, seemingly nobody else really knew him either.

“Police were called when neighbors complained about an odor emanating…”

Man I’ve never been this close to the top of the heap of people going to hell in a handbasket. Congrats (unofficially) to Loach on the win!

I’ve never been close either.

Hi guys! Sorry I’ve been away. Distractions. After a year like this, I’m surprised only 1 of mine hit. (…and why did it have to be Neil?) Congrats, Loach!

Director Jooan Micklin Silver died December 31 at age 85.

Jazz musician and composer Claude Bolling died Tuesday at 90 years old.

Drumroll please!!!

Time to announce the winners.

The “Opening Kickoff” award goes to RobotDevilDog and phungi, for their choice of David Stern

The “Quantity, no Quality” award goes to Loach, phungi, and Happy Lendervedder, who each had eight picks die on them. Sheesh, they must have had a hard time making up a new list.

The “Inside Track With the Grim Reaper” award is shared by Biotop and Snowboarder Bo, who each had three unique picks.

The “Final Hours” award is the sole posessionh of Biotop for their pick of author John le Carre.

And Loach is the overall winner! Yay!!! They had 247 points, holding off a couple of strong contenders. Throws confetti!!!

Congrats Loach!

Woot! My first time scoring any points at all and I end up sharing an award! Grats to my compadre Biotop (and all the other winners too)!

And of course: a huge

Thank you!

to our esteemed Death Mistress Baker (you totally fucking rock)!

Congrats all round on a good game, and big thanks to @Baker for running the show

Indeed!! Thank you!

Adolfo “Shabba-Soo” Quinones, hip-hop dance pioneer, died Tuesday at 65.

Baker, please don’t forget Kopek’s “Points From Beyond the Grave” award. I can guarantee that he would be truly honored.

I would like to thank the Academy and all those who made this possible.

Congrats Loach, thanks Baker. Also kudos go out to all the celebrities who make this possible!
