In high school we randomly took what the guy in the pic called my Nicole Kidman picture. Alas, I don’t actually look like Nicole. I don’t look like anybody. I have a weird face.
sigh

Well, I’ve been told I look like two “celebrities”
The first time I was 12 or 13, and a younger girl said I looked like the hero in Princess Bride (Cary Elwes), but I never got that again, and I don’t think I do…
My favorite, however, was that I looked like Buzz Lightyear. In fact, apparently I not only look like him, I act like him too (like him before he turns nice, I believe was the exact comment). I don’t know how I feel about it So now to some of my friends from college I’m known as Buzz the superhero… I guess that’s a good thing, right???
Fiona Apple
I used to hear that a lot when she had just released her albums, but I don’t hear it much anymore…probably because she isn’t as active anymore. I know I haven’t changed much in appearance.
For the Longest time I got compared to Donald Sutherland…
Later with my goatee I got compared to Kiefer Sutherland when he had his as well. I actually met him here in Vancouver and he commented that I looked more like his dad than he did. Cool that.
Since the hair went and I now routinely shave my head I get the Bruce Willis comparison waaaay too much.
My mom is convinced that I look like Anthony Edwards during the first two seasons of ER.
Carrie Ann Moss. After a shower, with my hair slicked back, I look like her Trinity incarnation; later when my hair’s dry and curly I look like her in Memento.
Mary Jo Pehl (Pearl Forrester, MST3k)
Shirley, the Morph-ster.
In high school I was told many a time that I looked like **Genie Francis ** from General Hospital. ( Laura, of Luke and Laura fame.) Because our hair styles were similar. Not bad, I could do much worse.
Then, slowly, I morphed without notice or effort on my part, into **Winona Ryder **. It was the hair cut I had at the time and she was hot then. I was quite pleased with these compliments from strangers.
Now, due to the invention and introduction of a styling product, I have managed a shag hair style and have turned into the **Ziploc ** chick with the short reddish shag hair and squeaky voice. Only, I’m not as squeaky.
And *To connect me to the OP ** my mom had a drawing done of me when I was about 9, wearing a short Dorothy Hamil hair style. I wear no glasses. The day I hung it on the wall my four year old son said to me, " Look Mama, it’s Harry Potter. " and if you put Harry’s spectales on that drawing, it would be Harry.
Ironically, I didn’t see the pun until you pointed it out.
My girlfriend had to come and see what was so funny.
Of course, I made her read the whole thread.
She doesn’t think I look a bit like Val Kilmer (I swear it’s the lips, which are covered by my, errr…facial hair)…or Balky either for that matter. She did mention Dennis Miller, but I simply can’t see that. I think it’s my vocal inflections that remind her of Dennis Miller.
However, she agrees on the Harry Potter part. I think she is just trying to get my goat.
In my younger days I was likened to Lynda Carter of “Wonderwoman” fame, a few years after that to Juice Newton.
Most recently some idjit door-to-door saleswoman said I looked like Cher, so I broke into my rendition of “Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves”. She left in a quick hurry. And I didn’t even get to buy anything!
Here’s a photo of me. In case anyone cares.
This has been covered before, but when I wear my hair short and pixie-ish, I’m a dead ringer for Joyce DeWitt from Three’s Company (although neither of us is dead, nor do we, to the best of my knowledge, ring.)
Now my hair is longer, permed, and colored. Although I am olive-skinned, dark-haired and vaguely Asian looking, I have had several people tell me I look “sort of like” Shelley Long.
My mum has a pic of herself when she was about eight years old.
She is a dead ringer for Alfred E. Neuman.
Think Alfred with pigtails.
I’m not making this up.
Friends and complete strangers have told me I look just like Kirsten Dunst. Especially in Interview with a Vampire cos she had curly hair like me! I don’t really see it though… but I don’t mind really because everyone always tries to flatter my ego and tell me I’m a prettier version of her
I get Angie Harmon every now and again.
jellen92 and sKipping girl, you two do realize that discussions like this, like many SDMB threads, also require cites, right?
I am soooo sorry…
Excellent work Ethilrist
Alot of people tell me I look like Chaka Khan. There is nothing wrong with chaka khan at all, I just don’t see the resemlance- But i hear it from people often enough that there must be something there- I just don’t know what.
When I taught in Japan (1990-91) I had longish sideburns. The kids all called me Lupan Sansei (“Lupin III”).
ermmm, let me see. I’ve been compared with a few celebrities, and have to say I couldn’t see the resemblance myself.
Alanis Morrisette is one, and Gloria Estefan. Been compared by a teacher in college as a cross between Bette Midler and Barabara Streisand (I have to say I think I was a bit insulted about that one). I think that’s it.
I think I resemble myself most of all
