Ugh. She has one character, a boring ditz, at that, and cannot understand why she continues to get roles. I saw “Working Girl” (or whatever it’s called) and it was good, but did she just blow me away with her acting skills and ability to portray the unappreciated assistant? No. Sigourney Weaver was much better in her role.
Sure, she’s attractive, but she looks like just about every other model. Why is she the one in particular that has “most downloaded on the internet” status? That goes for most supermodels, too. Why do certain ones become famous, even though they’re not significantly better looking than any other model?
Modelling is more than just being pretty (don’t panic, I am not about to say it requires a whole lot of skill). You have to have the “right look” for the moment. You have to be able to project on the runway your “attitude”. Lastly, a designer or cosmetic company has to pick up on your look, so that is mostly luck.
Cindy Margolis is all about marketing herself. She was one of the first women to create a webpage all about herself and make her image downloadable and FREE. She was in the right place at the right time.
Bob Hope. Never wrote his own material. Thousands of different ways of saying the same old jokes.
Elizabeth Taylor. Never much of an actress, just famous for being famous. Last role (I believe) was voice-over on the Simpsons.
As for the oft-mentioned George Hamilton - I kinda like him, because he is a conscious parody of himself - like Wayne Newton.
