Celine Dion Dutch ?

Met a lovely woman the other day. When she spoke, her voice/accent sounded like a dead ringer for Celine Dion.

Now I regard Celine as my favourite singer of all time, and her character displayed in various interviews is above reproach. To my surprise, I find out that this woman emigrated from the Netherlands to Canada several years ago. Definitely not French-Canadian.

Now I’m a Dutch immigrant myself, but I did not see this coming. Can anyone explain this. Are there different accents of English speech in the Netherlands comparable to the regional accents of England for example?

Definitely aliens. What with their superior scientific advances, they can change a person’s voicebox so that they sound exactly like your favorite celebrity.
