Cellphone towers

http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a3_290a.html

New towers don’t always have to be built in urban areas. Our church’s steeple hosts several cellphone transmitters, and the church gets several thousand dollars a year in rental fees. Win-win.

Yeah, but how is the congregation enjoing the new tin-foil hats they have to wear during services? :stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe instead of tin-foil hat, that should be cybercap.

Isn’t that a violation of the separation of church and stasis ?

<Belloq> “It is a radio for speaking to God.” </Belloq>

No tinfoil hats necessary, as yet. And I don’t think the Voice of God will be on the same wavelength as Aunt Pearl’s cellphone. But thanks for your concern! :dubious:

I like dandelions

There is a church in my fair city with cellular antennae and crosses on the steeple.

Dick Cheney goes to your church!

As always, consult your local zoning regulations.

OK, somebody should point out that the plural of “antenna”, in this context, is “antennas”, not “antennae”.

“Antennae” is the plural when applied to bugs. (The entomological kind, not the espionage kind. Spy-type bugs might have antennas, but not antennae.)

And Churches.

Only the Catholic Church. The others got rid of Latin long ago.
