My mother is a vendor selling Irish goods at various festivals throughout the year.

Several times she’s been burned with bad credit cards ( our plug-in reader is at home; we tally up the credit card slips the night the festival is over), and want some kind of reader that checks the credit card right then and there.

Do you have a CC merchant account? Many of the companies who offer those services will also sell/lease you the necessary equipment. You can run an authorization first, which will tell you immediately if the card is declined or not.
