Centipede Rear Appendages?

This started wih a question from Celtling as to whether or not Centipedes have tails. So I went into body sections, telson v tail and the lobster comparison. But then we pulled up a picture which showed the two rear things, which look like larger flabby legs, but which at least one site referes to as “senstive appendages.”

What are the rear appendages called? Are they like fat antennae? Can they move on their own, or do they just drag along behind? Are they mainly there to let the creature know if he’s left any food behind?

Please help!

this site calls them “terminal legs” and differentiates them from the more anterior locomotory legs.
