Cereal for women only

My fiancee brought home some cereal last night, I can’t recall the name, but it was some kind of vanilla almond thing. It says right on the box it is formulated especially for women. Has anyone else seen this? When did breakfast cereal become gender-specific? (My fiancee argues that Wheaties is marketed towards men…that may be true, but it doesn’t state a gender on the box itself).

Bizarre. Don’t eat any – your penis might fall off. Anyway, vanilla-almond cereal just sounds gross.

Could it have been those new Kellogg’s Vanilla-Almond Estrogen Flakes?

Dumb marketing ploy, is my guess.

It’s probably got soy (a phytoestrogen) or calcium in it or something.

Dang- on the tip of my tongue- Harmony? Yeah, I think that’s it.

I concur. “I am woman, eat my cereal!”

Actually, if they are the ones I think they are, the differnt cereals have some herbal extracts in them - ginseng and saw palmetto for men, and I can’t remember what for women. IIRC, the amounts of the herb are so small that it is really not much more than a marketing ploy aimed at people who have heard of a particular profile herb and figure this is a good way to get some. Sort of like getting your viatmins from Wonderbread.
