Challenge for Gamers- problems installing THIEF GOLD and ALICE

No one rose to the challenge a month ago, so I repeat AND add to it! Come one,
gaming Dopers! Major kudos to whoever can help us get these game problems resolved. These are the only two games that are causing troubles. All my GFs other games are working all right.

Still thought, her new Gateway laptop won’t/can’t install her THIEF GOLD. She tried the “:\setup.exe -lgntforce” several times at it kept stalling at 94%. She did think she had them installed before but now finds no sign of them.
So she’s been trying again with this 94% stalling as the result.

Also, she can’t get American McGee’s ALICE installed. A black screen & an error message asking if she wants to send notification to Microsoft comes up when she tries to get in going.

Here are her specs- any ideas of what to do?

For Thief, could it be something wrong with the disc? Maybe it’s been damaged since she last installed it.
