The reason the Department of Hawaiian Homelands (not the department of Health) preferred that people applying for access to Hawaiian Land revenue submit a Certificate of Live Birth rather than a Certification of Live Birth was that the Certificate of Life Birth has more information than a Certification of Live Birth. Since, in order to apply for that, you need to be of Native Hawaiian blood (ethnically Hawaiian), they want as much information as possible.
But, according to Hawaiian law (predating Obama’s presidency), a COLB provided by the Department of Health is functionally the same as the original:

This is the stupidest thing ever. I was born in Pennsylvania. There was time when I had my own “long form birth certificate”, but I lost it years ago. There is no other copy. My own long form birth certificate does not exist anymore. When I needed an official birth certificate for myself after I had lost the original, I wrote to the PA vital statistics office for one. They sent me a “Certificate of Live Birth” that looks exactly like the one for Obama. It is exactly equivalent to any other kind of birth certificate; in my case there is no other birth certificate existing.
Well since idiots like Gigobuster, Capt Amazing and Morgenstern keep asking the same questions which Ive already addressed, I won’t waste time answering their idiotic questions. I explained the newspaper announcements, etc. I spelled out what Hawaii means by native born (ie native Hawaiian not native born American). But you liberals can’t read. As for Abercrombie, yes, they did retract the exact wording that he can’t find the actual birth certificate, but he did say that:
"“It was actually written, I am told, this is what our investigation is showing, it actually exists in the archives, written down.”
So it’s another case of “Trust me, because someone supposedly knows someone who claims they saw a notation written somewhere.”
Note that he did NOT say that they found the original birth certificate, but rather a “notation” about Obama’s birth.
Abercrombie acknowledged the birth certificate issue will have “political implications” for the next presidential election “that we simply cannot have.” [COLOR=#000000]
He also stated that the birth certificate problem will present “issues” in the next election that “We simply can’t have”.
I’m sure he means that it’s going to disqualify his buddy Obama from running again.
So to all you sheeple, why are you so opposed to Obama simply showing his original birth certificate, which he claims exists, which his friends claim exists, and which he claims he FOUND A COPY OF inside one of his books?
