Lotta questions here,
I see that the Comment on Staff Reports was formerly called “Mailbag Answers”.
How long ago was thay anyway? A million years? And since its probably a really long time maybe nobody cares? How about getting that removed huh?
Yeah, it’s been a while, but the old reports, still titled “from Cecil’s Mailbag” are available on our archive page, so we left the description, as we still sometimes get questions and comments about them.

[stage whisper] This is also because I really liked the title “Mailbag”, but the READER honchos didn’t because it sounded too much like the “Letters to the Editor” page in superhero comic books of the 1950s. I dislike “Staff Reports” because it sound s too much like memoranda from the workers to management.[/stage whisper]
It’s fine as it is. People can usually find what they’re looking for, old and new material, with the situation as it stands now. There’s no good reason to change it.
The Reader prefers “Staff Reports” and even though I liked “Cecil’s Mailbag,” that’s their decision and we are living with it. Tough ti–noogies, Dex.
We’ve been going on like this for quite a while now and there’s several hundred reports in the system, most of which currently can be found using the search engine on the Archive page. If we were to change, it would mean someone (someone like, um, me) changing hundreds of url’s to reflect the new nomenclature throughout the site.
I don’t have time to do stuff as it is, dammit.
Why is it such a deal to you, anyway, Brendan? It happened before you got here, what do you care?
