I think American Idol should include musicians/bands, not just singers, and having to cover all that schlocky pap is mind-numbingly boring. Let them do all originals if they want.
Most shows on nowadays depress me. I would have kept the suspense on Lois & Clark (ABC, 1996) by not even getting to the first date till Season 4 - have them fall in love but be absolutely scared of letting the other know. They ended up being engaged at the start of the third season and then they had to keep planning weddings that kept getting cancelled in order to have something to keep writing about. They probably should have spent more time focusing on b plot romances with the supporting cast as well just to take the focus off a bit and let things go on for a bit longer.
Make the quiz shows harder - much harder - force people to be a bit more intelligent.
Also either get rid of all the Idol type shows or let some people who have talent and understand that they cannot afford to fool around and need to work hard for it to be on it. Bands would be an improvement as well as original work.
And I hate LOST, 4400 and the damn OC - get rid of them all please.

Oh and stop trying to run SNL based on nothing but a never ending supply of bad puns on genitalia and sex jokes - what happened to all the good comedy? What happened to the good writers? Stop having stupid guests on who agree to perform those horrible embarrassing skits.
I used to like SNL - can’t stand it now. Death of a show - it’s jumped the shark for me.
