Changing/canceling flight tickets bought from Priceline

I was supposed to go out to Portland next week but something has come up and I am unable to go. I bought the tickets on Priceline and the flight involves multiple airlines. The tickets are non-refundable but I can retain the value for up to a year if I notify them and pay the change/reissue fee which is $150 plus possibly another $30 for some other bullshit.

My question is, how does this work if my ticket involves multiple airlines? I’ve read all of the information provided by Priceline and it’s not really very helpful. All I understood from their info was that if I cancelled through Priceline they would charge me another $30 on top of the airline fees. Do I have to pay the change/reissue fee to all of the airlines or just one of them, determined by… ? Anyone have any experience with this?

I’m just wondering whether it’s worth it to go through all the bother or just eat the cost of the tickets and no-show.

That your ticket has multiple airlines is not the concern. The airlines have ticketing agreements between (evidenced because they both appear on the same ticket). The payment of the 150.00 penalty is to the endorsing carrier; most likely the airline that flies on the first leg of your journey.
The additional 30.00 are probably Priceline’s fees.

Check the rules of the airlines that you’re flying. Each fare level has it’s own set of rules and, often, the most restrictive rule applies.

Chances are that you have one year from the date that you purchased the ticket to use those funds to complete travel. You may find that the fare-rule regarding your ticket might be a little more flexible.

Most airline rules are wide, varied and complicated. Most often, they seems to make little sense as to why they read that way.
