Changing lyrics for the radio

Aliotta, Haynes & Jeremiah had a local Chicago hit in the mid-1970s called Lake Shore Drive. One of the repeated lines is “Running south on Lake Shore Drive, heading into town”. In one of the verses, they add “Just slippin’ on by on LSD, Friday night trouble bound”. And later, "Just snaking on by on LSD, Friday night trouble bound. " (LSD is the nickname for Lake Shore Drive, in addition to acid.) One of the local Chicago radio stations would change “LSD” to the station call letters. I can’t remember which station it was anymore, possibly WLS. The letters didn’t fit right. But it was the only way the station would play the song on the radio. (I’m pretty sure it was an AM station.)
