I need to get the DVD drive out so I can put the new one in.
I have a Dell Inspiron 8100.
Any ideas?

Okay, it didn’t work, because…
the little triangle things do release units, but my DVD drive is not one of those two units.
My DVD drive (if you are looking at that picture) is on the lower left side. There is a little curved thing that sticks out which I can get to pop out of I unscrew something, but the drive doesn’t pop out or anything. I’m not sure if I should move that curved thing one way or the other. I’m probably going to break it.
What do you think?

In case that link was dynamic, you turn it off, remove everything, etc. etc, then loosen that screw you were probably already looking at, then slide it out.
Okay, what we decided to do is remove the floppy drive and put the DVD drive in there. It works fine.
The one on the side is a different size. So I shouldn’t have bought the one I did. But at least it works now.
