I did a quick SDMB search for this and came-up empty. What’s up with channel 35 in New York City? Why are they able to show full frontal nudity as well as [graphically] advertise sex-talk lines and escort services? Is this exclusive to NYC or does this exist elsewhere (in the US)?
(For those who don’t know, channel 35 is basic cable in nyc)
I think that is the local public-access station.
PA stations can do way more than others, though at a much lower level of quality
Here on LI we have that on channel 70 from 1230 - 230 AM. (I’m not 100% sure about the time it ends.)
On the Straight Dope, we don’t put in misleading thread title, m’kay? And even if this was about free porn, if it were an internet link it would get deleted. Maybe a better thread title would be “Channel 35, the FCC, and you: Can I advertise my phone sex line?”
In the same vein, maybe we shouldn’t be looking for free porn on the Straight Dope, and assume a thread with that title is asking a question about such.
