Character Names you love

Don’t forget his bride Hashberry

Kick Buttowski.

As a longtime Adult Swim viewer I do recognize these as coming from Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Indeed. (I shouldn’t have mentioned Meatwad)

He was a broad hint. I haven’t watched the show for a long time and would have puzzled over Rabbot and MC Pee Pants as being vaguely familiar.

Professor Pippy P. Poopypants, from Captain Underpants and the Perilous Plot of Professor Poopypants. He changed his name from Tippy Tinkletrousers.

That reminds me of Mr. Poopybutthole in Rick and Morty.

Racist Frankenstein from “Minoriteam.”

It was mentioned here, which lead me to suggest Snideley’s taller spiritual ancestor, Dudley Nightshade, who also had the top hat, cloak, and moustache.

It was mentioned earlier in the thread? Odd - this time when I entered “Snidely Whiplash” into search, the only two posts that popped up was mine and yours (which came after mine).

another Odd Couple favourite - Speed

Corky St. Clair / all Spinal Tap names (and Rutles names, especially drummer Barry Wom)

Speaking of clothes, Astrid Lindgren had Pippi Långstrump…

Queer Duck had Oscar Wildcat, Openly Gator, Bipolar Bear…

When he was a standup comic Woody Allen spoke of a tormentor named “Guy de Maupassant Rabinowicz.”

RuPaul portrayed “Rachel Tensions” in To Wong Foo…

Paige Turner is a porn star (I thought it was a RuPaul character but I was wrong).

Disgrace - J. M. Coetzee

There is a character named Oom Koos which translates to something like ‘Uncle John’ in Afrikaans. I read this book in college almost 20 years ago, but this apparently common name in South Africa sounds like a Star Wars character and it is something I think about still.

If you ever met a real human named Boba Fett you’d never forget them.

Bob Offett, on the other hand…

Or his Irish cousin, Bob O’Fett.

This place needs a ‘thumbs up’ feature.

THAT WHICH ABIDES, the ancient evil from Andre Norton’s Janus books; also just called THAT or IT. But always in all-caps.

Solomon Moody Moore, a crime lord in Mike Resnick’s The Branch; something about its rhythm just appealed to me.

“Cnaiür urs Skiötha The Most Violent Of All Men” from The Prince of Nothing.

Him Who Doesn’t Walk from The Anubis Gates, a mysterious crime lord. Who, it turns out has no legs and floats, thus the name.

“Chakravartin Jagganoth, Wheel-Turning King, Red Eyed Heir, Pankrator, the God Eater, Bearer of the Word BLADE, and Destroyer of the Seven-Part World”

He, not him.

Now, they are just ripping off real names like
“King of the Universe, the mighty king, the king of Assyria, favorite of Assur, priest of Assur, rightful ruler, beloved of Ishtar, who subjected the Kuti to their farthest border; son of Shalmaneser, priest of Assur, grandson of Adad-nirari, priest of Assur” AKA Tukulti-Ninurta

In the Tintin books:

Thomson and Thompson (no big deal separately, but together, yeah.)
Captain Haddock
Professor Cuthbert Calculus
