Characters you find repulsive.

Can’t believe I’m saying this…

Mark, Becky’s husband in Roseanne. Have to give the actor props for playing the loser who thinks he’s hot shit and mooches off the family so well, but I just couldn’t stand his ass.

Andy Dick - he only has one “character” in whatever he’s in. Can’t watch him; whiny, sniveling, snarky, evil, nasty little man.

And, of course, I think Hildi from Trading Spaces should be shoved out the nearest airlock with all due haste. I swear, this woman is the antichrist. And all those adjectives written above? They apply to this waste of skin as well.

Hmmm, sorry about that - evidently there’s no end to my repulsion.

Darlene on “Roseanne.” Sulky, whiny, self righteous, and an irritating know-it-all. Watching her on TV was probably one of the reasons I decided not to have children.

You mean Mr. Blonde, played by Michael Madsen, the evil torturting psychotic bastard? Good call there.

I’m back to second Fat Bastard as a useless offensive character and the real reason I came back was to add Harmony from Angel

I’ll have to say Becky on “Roseanne”. I actually feel quite sorry for Mark that he married her. Becky is supposed to be smart, but ends up doing the dumbest things. Her height of stupidity and selfishness is the episode where she skips school to marry Mark. She blames her father, Dan, on letting the shop fail and her only concern is whether or not Mark will get a job or not. She doesn’t care that the family might sink because now Dan and Roseanne are unemployed. No, won’t somebody PLEASE think about her boyfriend?!

Of course, those aren’t the only moments of stupidy that Becky has displayed, but it’s one of the worse. When she’s older (and played by Sarah Chalke) all she does is complain about how Mark doesn’t treat her right or how he isn’t sensitive to women’s issues. Gah!

Speaking of, David, Mark’s brother, gets on my nerves alot. Not all of that time, but mostly when he’s a total lap dog to Darlene. I have never seen such a doormat of a character.

Atticus Finch. What an A-hole!

He’s not really a character, but I really can’t stand Jon on the newest incarnation of “Survivor.” I’m sure he’s a truly nice guy in real…nah, never mind. He’s a smarmy dick with way too goddamn much love for wrasslin’. If I have to hear one more wrasslin’ catch-phrase this week, I’m going to commit hari-kari.

Okay, I forgot this.

Everyone on Oz.

The show is obviously extremely well-done. So well-done, in fact, that I don’t think I can ever watch it again. I rented the first two disks from the first season and watched them, cringing. I have the last disk from season one from Netflix here right now and am debating on whether or not to watch it. I just find it painful to watch. Even the good guys are scum. Except the nun and the priest, I guess. They’re good.

My immediate reaction was the same as Jennyrosity’s, Gollum.

I had horrible nightmares about Gollum for years after seeing the animated version of The Hobbit when I was around 3. I read The Hobbit in 8th grade, years after everyone else read it, because it was required for school. And I hated Gollum.

Gollum in FOTR scared me, but I finally started getting used to him in TTT. I don’t think I’ll ever be comfortable with Gollum’s character though. Too many nightmares.

Peggy Bundy. God, how I loathe her.

I third the Women from ‘Sex in the City’ (someone seconded them)

But Ren and Stimpy?? They are the best!

Oh, and most participants of American reality TV shows. Sorry, quite a controversial one, but they do a disservice to the term ‘reality’

Roseanne-Roseanne and her sister, Jackie. I want to just grab them by the hair and slam their heads together!

Trinny and suzannha. I soooooo want to kill those two.

(hateful offensive snotty stuck up slags who dress like shit and have the nerve to critisize everyone else’s dress sense)

Bringing it back to EastendersJanine
I. Hate. That. Bitch. I have to give the actress credit for her skill in portraying such a loathesome person. I keep reminding myself that she’s only a character. However, that doesn’t prevent me from hoping that a car comes screaming around a corner and flattens her ass, a la Tiffany or Jamie.

I agree with you there Granuaile.

And I’d like to add Liz Macdonald from corrie to the list. I am so glad she isn’t a regular anymore.

And quite high up the list (for almost ruining the film for me) is Helena Bohnam Carter’s character in Fight Club. I couldn’t stand her character.

Same goes for Sharron Stone’s character in ‘casino’ . Great film except when she was on screen.

Christian Slater’s character in Home for the Holidays. Never before nor since have I actually wanted to climb into the movie screen and administer a thorough beating!

There’s nothing in the OP about the characters having to be from TV or movies, and the characters I hate the most are the Draka from S.M. Stirling’s Draka novels. Imagine the worst of Old South slaveowners and German Nazis all rolled together in one disgusting package. I’d have nuked the lot of them without a second thought.

I’ll also second Ren and Stimpy. Blech. Another case of arrested development types working out their issues via cartoons.

How can you guys talk about characters you hate from the Sopranos and not mention the worse of them all?

I hate hate hate Dr. Melfi. I want her to be wacked in the worst way. Her voice grates on my nerves and everything she says is stupid. I don’t know how Tony has gone this long and managed not to punch her in the nose at least once. You can definitely say that I am repulsed.

The funny thing is that it is only Dr. Melfi that repulses me. I have seen Lorraine Bracco in a couple of other movies and was not bothered by her at all.
