Charles Lane is 101 today

I couldn’t find a news blurb about it.

For those that aren’t familiar with him:

Happy birthday, Charles!

Just think, by the time he appeared as the rent collector in “It’s A Wonderful Life” (1946), he had already appeared in 163 movies!!

Some people knew him as the railroad owner in “Petticoat Junction” that wanted to shut down the Cannonball. Some people knew him at the crotchety old man in Disney movies. You may not know his name, but once you see a clip of him, you’ll say, “Oh! THAT guy!”

He just keeps on going! How cool that he’s in triple digits!

Happy Birthday, Mr. Lane! I think you’re the bees knees!

Not to mention the town constable in The Music Man.

I believe when he turned 100 he said he’d consider doing another movie if the right part came along.

I meant to start a thread on this today. Lane’s career is amazing, and you can always spot him, even when he says just one line.

Happy birthday, Charlie.

Happy 101st. Here’s a photo of Mr. Lane, I think, taken last year on his 100th.
