I’ll be in Charleston for a few days next week and am looking for some “Don’t miss” things to see/do. It will be mid-week but we have a couple of days with some time to kill. Outdoorsy things a plus. Any causal-but-good restaurant recommendations would also be appreciated. Thanks.
Fort Sumter is on my short list. In addition to the fort itself, it requires a ferry ride that takes you on a tour of the harbor.
And cheesy or touristy as it may seem, take a buggy tour. You’ll learn a lot more about the place than just wandering.
There are also lots of walking tours and bikeshaws.
PS- I love Charleston, or “The Holy City”- the touristy parts anyway. The old part is one of my favorite cities in the U.S. for walking.
