Can anyone please tell me tha MAIN newspaper for Charleston, SC. Not the business journals or the thrifty nickels, but the main, real paper?

Why are you leaving, Skerri? I’m interested, since I’m moving to Charleston this fall.
I lived in Summerville, which is near Charleston, and commuted to Mount Pleasant for work each day. We lived there for five years.
Searching, when you move, seek out Sticky Fingers for ribs and the Irish pub downtown (can’t remember the name right now, but it’s the only one) for she-crab soup.
The Irish pub would be Tommy Condon’s :). I live in Charleston too. Not to speak for Skerri but, she’s moving to be with her honey. ivylass I love Sticky Fingers.
Searching For Truth, there’s not many of us Dopers here, myself, Skerri (who is leaving), sidle who is all busy having a life :), and Becky who seems to mostly lurk. I’ve met them all, and they are all very nice people. If you need info or help getting around, just drop me an e-mail. Charleston has some really nice points, and you’re obviously already used to SC, that’s helpful. I’m looking to move but not for a few years. You’ll find that Charleston is a small city.

The only thing I miss* is Sticky Fingers, with their combination platter of wet, dry, sweet and Jack Daniels whiskey ribs…I know they have a restaurant in Atlantic Beach, Florida, and one of these days I’m going to have to make a road trip. I would crawl across broken glass for a plate of their ribs…drooooooooooool.
*not to insult Charleston, but all of our family lives in Florida, so this is home to me.
ivylass, they’ve added a habanero hot to the menu too! 
I had them the other day for lunch - they were great!
You can also have them fedex’ed to you.

Yup. I’m moving to Baltimore to live with my boyfriend. His job is working out so well up there that I couldn’t ask him to move here. (He’s a stand-up comedian, and he’s been getting great shows recently. There’s only one or two places in Charleston that he could get a gig.)
Feh. Sticky Fingers. You haven’t lived until you’ve eaten Bessinger’s Barbeque. (And you have to get an onion ring.) Searching, do you know where you might be living when you come here? Are you coming for school? Nosy people wanna know.

Skerri, I’m glad you’re not leaving Charleston cuz you hate it. 
And it’s great that you’ll get to be with your boyfriend. Congratulations on his recent success. I’m sure he’ll continue to book great shows.
As for your questions, yes, I’m coming to Charleston for school. College of Charleston has quite the reputation in SC for being a party school - but then again, what collection of 18-22-year-olds isn’t a party school in some respect?! Its academic reputation and atmosphere are what attracted me, of course. (I’m honestly not too much of the partying type.)
Slainte, I will definitely drop you an email if I ever have questions or get stranded and need a place to crash, etc.

I’ve seen the FedEx shipments, and it’s the loose meat off the ribs stuff. (Unless they’ve changed it?) I want to rip the meat off the bones…

Actually Becky broke our ‘S’ streak. Oddly enough, I didn’t even know of the two other ‘S’ Dopers when I picked my screen name.
I don’t know what I’m going to do before I leave SC, Slainte. I know that a couple of friends are going with me to go see Evanescence at the Music Farm on the 19th. And I think we’ll be going to AC’s before the show. Wanna come?
