Charlie Wilson's War

Lovely little film. And a very good performance by all three of the principals. I loved the bugging scene.

Yeah PSH is the best part of a great film. I like him from his yelling in the director’s office, all the way to the chess scene (which includes the bugging scene). Plus his story of the little boy and the monk was great too.

I loved that movie.

I guess I’m not surprised it didn’t really catch on; it never really creates a major source of central tension (is it about Afghanistan, Wilson’s investigation, the CIA, Julia ROberts, etc?). Now, that didn’t bother me. . .it’s a film whose entertainment comes from distinct characters and snappy dialogue, and I’m a sucker for that.

I’m just saying that I know people who came out of it like, “what was the point?”

I also liked Sorkin’s self-reference at the start.

I would have missed it. Especially if it had anything to do with West Wing.
