Charter Members: Who and how many are left?

Who is number 1? (He or she is probably not a free man.)

You can check any user by changing the number at the end of the link. There is no user #1, which is somehow… fitting. Lynn Bodoni is/was number 2.

Ed the Z seems to be the only active member in the first 10 (#6).

GusNSpot has the lowest number of anyone who isn’t staff, 33.

I’m a charter member but not a 99er. 2000 I think? (On Tapatalk, can’t see)

August 2001, newbie!

Ditto.

This. On a dollars / hour basis SDMB is *really *a bargain.

The above encapsulate my outlook pretty accurately. Fairly sure I’m paid up till 2017, but no time like the present to check.

I never saw the AOL version of the Board, and I have no problem calling myself a '99er.

I’ve spent a lot more money on a lot of so-called ‘fun’ things that gave me a lot less pleasure than my charter membership has given to me.

I’ve been a member here since October 2001.
I pay for membership because for me, it is
worth it.

Holy crap. It has been fifteen years. Holy moley.

Well, I plan on stickin’ around too.

… and got demoted.

I’m another Charter Member who stays paid up two years in advance so that I never lose it. Now I’m really curious about my join number.

I got ya beat–6687. :stuck_out_tongue:

A little ways off from GusNSpot though.

I’m still here, though I don’t post a lot most of the time. I have to agree with all the folks that say it’s well worth the money.

Yeah. There are periodic references to the '99ers, but the real elite club is of those with two-digit join numbers.

I have been a charter member, and I actually lurked prior to that but I have no idea if there are any posts I can search for to find out my absolute earliest post. Oh, and 44346 is my member number

Here’s your first post. February 2004.

Still here, though I mostly lurk…
