Charts vs. graphs

I just went on dictionary.com to compare the definitions of charts and graphs, and they appear to be synonymous. However, I feel that there is some differentiating factors between the two. For instance, if I saw a diagram with just lists on comparitive facts or numbers, I would call it a chart. If I saw a diagram with pictures, I would instinctively call it a graph. Are they interchangable or not?

Yes, they are interchangeable. A chart is another name for a graph. However, a chart can also be purely text. Thus any graph can be called a chart, but some charts cannot be called graphs.

No one has any problems differentiating.
