Cheating

“Cheating is bad. Richard Basehart is good.”

I may be thick but I don’t understand what you are trying to get across here. The presence of the sarcastic smiley seems to imply that you find something silly…i’m just not sure what.

I think you may be saying that you think someone (the OP, myself, another poster, or society in general?) has stretched the definition of cheating to include even innocuous behaviour? Is that correct?

Again, sorry if I am just being thick but I’d truly like for you to elaborate.

Mostly I was being a smartass :stuck_out_tongue:

The term “cheating” does have several meanings and shades outside the realm of competition…like “cheating on a spouse” or “cheating on your income taxes” or “he cheated death one more time…”

beagledave,
thanks for the prompt reply! that clears it up for me.

From reading tevya’s post we know that it’s unsportsmanlike behaviour.

Punishable by 15 yards and a loss of down.

Or a technical foul (one free throw and the other team get possession).

Or a ten minute misconduct.

And possible ejection from the game.

Depending on the sport.

speak the truth. Be honest. never take that which is not rightfully yours. Never, ever violate the trust of another.

follow this and you don’t have to worry about cheating.

really, it is very simple…
