If 3.5 million animals are euthanized every year, that comes out to 7 animals a minute? Correct?
Thanks

Well, closer to six and a half.
Apparently, there are more than 525,600 minutes in a year. Must be that extra .2425 days that we fix use for leap years.
BTW, remember that we’re not supposed to be doing your homework for you
:):smack: Whoops!:smack:
Thanks, BigT!

Meh. My answer still rounds to 7. I just like to use significant figures.
In theory. But animals are only euthanized from 9 to 5.
Right but it’s always 9-5 somewhere in the world…
Rigamarole brings up a very good point! Thank you!
So can you help me re-figure?
I need these numbers for a speech about the bicycle ride I am about to do to benefit the Humane Society, and I’m gonna have to make a speech.
Sorry to have to ask.
Thanks
Q
Well I was sort of joking - you did it right as far as how you would typically compute such a figure for the purposes of making a dramatic point.
Although if you want to get technical about it, BrandonR: that would have to assume that 1. the initial figure is a worldwide one and 2. the occurrences of euthanasia are evenly distributed across all time zones.
Well yeah but it’s about as good as you’re going to get, and it’s how virtually every “X event occurs every Y second” statistic is created.
Jeeeeeee----busssss!!! Just look at this guy bein’ reduntatious again, repetitively, over and over!:smack:
Some English teacher needs to kick him in the “growins’”, ya’ ask me!
Thanks, Y’all!
