Checks, Public Input, and the Federal Reserve

Recently, the Fed began considering doing away with paper checks.

I wanted to contact them about this.

But their public input page will not accept input.

All it does is pulse slowly, & will not permit me to input data.

I am using a VPN. Is this the cause?

Or, is the call for input a sham?

PLEASE NOTE : this IS NOT ABOUT whether you thinks checks are good or bad. This is about why info cannot be input into this comments page.

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I found a webpage that said, “Starting September 30, 2025, the federal government will stop issuing paper checks for most federal payments.” Is that what you’re thinking of?

Sorry, in looking further, this press release seems to be what you’re thinking of. (“The Federal Reserve Board on Thursday requested public input on the impact of potential strategic changes to check services provided by the Fed, as well as check usage and preferences.”) I see comments provided by other people so there must be a working way to provide input.

The VPN may well be the issue.

The other likely issue is any sort of ad blocking add-in active in your browser.

Disable all that and you’ll probably succeed.

I don’t know anything about that page, but they will accept comments via email.

Other Means: publiccomments@frb.gov. You must include the docket number - OP-1874 - in the subject line of the message.

My ad blocker has begun blocking more pages that require any kind of input on my part, even to the point of blocking login pages.
