Chefs Table on Netflix

anyone else watching this? I’m absolutely in love and supremely jealous of the life these chefs have

It is really gorgeously filmed. I’ve only watched the first two, but I think I find “gourmet” food too pretentious to take very seriously (the second guy more than the first.) I don’t really want a radish on a nail for dinner.

I think the second one definitely had some high points that I liked. I really liked how he fed the peppers to the chickens and their eggs ended up being red. Super super interesting take on “your food is what your food eats.”

The first guy was totally the best in my book. I’m in love with his life and find his whole story to be so romantic

We are halfway through the first one. It gets so slow and bludgeony; we had to stop. I think the episode would have been better if it was shorter and more to the point.

We like this kind of stuff though, so we will try it again.

Seen the first two. Perhaps a bit too much meandering and ponderous, but interesting. Massimo Bottura and Dan Barber are both obsessives, but completely different in approach and personality.

I like it as an ambiance sort of thing, if I’m also crocheting and/or chatting with Celtling. I can’t just sit and watch it all the way through. Agree with “ponderous” bmo, it is too much, but of something I like.
