Chemical reaction...

Camping in a tent.Hhusband peed in an old aluminum pot. It was smelling, so he added bleach straight. Left bleach in the pot, and the next time he peed, with bleach in the pot, some type of reaction happened. Fumes, eyes burning, pee foamed up!! What happened?

Congratulations, you discovered aluminum hydroxide.

But the more important question here is why anyone is peeing in an aluminum pot when you’re in the middle of the woods.

It’s not aluminum hydroxide

He didn’t want anyone saying he didn’t have a pot to pee in, so he proved he did.

You’ve never camped in the snow or ice, have you? Or otherwise, sometimes you just don’t want to crawl out of a warm sleeping bag.

Old proverb: Woman who boils cabbage and peas in the same pot is unhygienic.

That’s why you have a pee bottle, not an open pot.

Wouldn’t it be the bleach-ammonia reaction?

haha!! because it was raining and he didn’t want to go outside!!! But, good question… thanks for the reply!

whoa!!! well, that was a good thread!! Good thing I braved the woods and rain to get it out of the tent!!
