Had to jump in to share a real/true anti-perspirant available without a prescription.
No ties with the company, I stumbled on it searching the subject, took a chance that their claims (and return policies) might be true and it literally changed my life.
Since I fear getting booted, just before I pay for membership, let’s say you can find “Maxim” on a search for hyperhydrosis.
Hey, it took me years to find, with no help from any ‘ultra-informative’ message board.
Do the people around you notice your smell? Going with the “different bacteria” theory, it could be that the odor seems really strong to you because you’re still not used to it
My guess it’s from the diet change while in France. Diet has a strong effect on your smell, which is why foreigners often find each other smelly, even though they both bathe regularly.
If this is the case, it would probably take awhile for the smell to return to normal
Is it possible that your new work situation is causing stress for you? I am a nurse and I remember once telling my older sister, also a nurse, how scared-out-of-my-mind-nervous I was when I was first out on the hospital floor “pretending” to be a nurse and how much deordorant I had to use. My sister is the type of person that always appears to be very self-assured and she replied that oh no, she was not nervous at all…but then she did remember how she had to use those underarm shields because she was sweating so much!
Some people seem to think that sweat does not smell. I feel that “nervous” underarm sweat does have an odor.
