Chemo blues : (

Said much better than what I was going to say. I’ve been following your progress over the summer and am glad to see you’re doing better, all things considered. You’ve had an outstanding attitude through all of this which I find inspiring.

Hang in there! The shots will help, eventually, and the chemo will end. I know the anemia is tough, but just rest as you can, and do things in little steps. A year later, most of that experience is very foggy (thank you, chemobrain!!) and life resumes as mostly usual. I did a lot of beading (jewelry making) during my most anemic stage because it was something I could do lying down with very few brain cells, and I could lay it down and take it up again without having to spend half an hour trying to figure out where I was (like doing cross-stitch).

I got to work today and got a call from the doctors office. The nurse was basically told me that if I have shingles I shouldn’t be at work because it was contagious. I felt pretty crappy, so I’d already planned to take the afternoon off, anyway. So they wanted me to come in as soon as I got off work. My blood counts went up, but I still needed another shot.
The doc looked at my arm, which has gotten a lot better, and said, it’s certainly not classic shingles symptoms—he didn’t know what it was. Then he told me I could go to work–just wear long sleeves.
He also told me to use a lot of hand sanitizer.
