Cherbuurashka: translation and explanations needed

My Google-fu is non-existent today, apparently…:frowning:

Last night, I watched the first Cheburashka cartoon, Krokodil Gena i ego druzya. It was subtitled in Spanish (which I speak).

Questions: what is the sink for in the corner of Gena’s apartment?

The lion character, Lev Shander (Chander?). His surname isn’t Slavic. Does it mean anything?

Does the puppy’s name, “Tovik”, mean anything?

The old lady Shapoklyak: she says in her introductory song “klichke Shapoklyak”. Is her real name ever given?

Is the name of Shapoklyak’s pet rat “Lariska” a male or female name? If it’s a nickname, what is it short for?

What exactly was Shapoklyak proposing they do with the coin purse?

She then says it would be “________” to do this, to which Gena, Cheburashka and Gala respond it would be a dumb thing to do. The word was translated as “guay” (“smashing/super”) in the subtitles. The word sounds like, здарова or старова or сдарова or зтарова or some combination of the initial consonants з/с and т/д and schwa’d о’s. What did she say?

Grammar question: the fruit stand owner puts up a sign saying the stand is “zakryto”, and the zoo’s sign says “zakryt”. What is, and why, the difference?

Larishka is a diminutive form of Lara, female.

Participles, like adjectives, have gender in Russian. Zakryt is masculine, zakryto is neuter. The sign on the fruit stand just says “Zakryto (period).” That is a one-word sentence that roughly means “It is closed.” On the other hand, the sign on the park says “Zoopark zakryt” which means “the zoo is closed.” Zoopark is masculine, so the participle matches the gender of the noun it modifies.

здóрово means fine, great.

She was suggesting they should tie a string to the purse and hide, and when someone tried to pick it up they would pull it away.
