Chicken Wings - Sauce Techniques and Recipes please

I refuse to search the web for recipes that were put there by 5 and 6 year olds.

I have a deep fryer
I have oil

I need some sauces to put in a bowl and flop my fried wings around in…like those chain wing places. But I need it to taste good (unlike those chain wing places).

Help me Dopers, please!

Just so you know, I’d like a garlic parmesan sauce, a regualr BBq sauce, and real sweet and sour.

A basic Buffalo sauce is just butter and Frank’s, although I cut mine with a little Crystal. A simple garlic parmesan sauce would take the same structure: melted butter, crushed garlic, parmesan cheese. Mix and toss. A sticky BBQ sauce can be whomped up by blending ketchup, molasses, red wine vinegar, garlic, brown sugar and a little hot sauce.

I know you didn’t ask for it but…

If you like sweet and hot, take some honey, water, a little cider vinegar, and a pinch of salt, and bring it to a low simmer in a pot. Score two habanero peppers, and throw them in there and let them simmer for about half an hour. Add water to desired consistency, and toss the wings in it like you would any other sauce. Enjoy.

Save yourself the trouble and just buy some of the original from The Anchor Bar.

How much trouble exactly is involved in mixing equal parts Frank’s and margarine (or butter)? Besides, it sounds like the OP is not interested in traditional Buffalo wing sauce, but wants other varieties.

Thou readst my mind perfectly!

I could go to the store and buy some off the shelf stuff, but that isn’t the way I roll.

Teriyaki sauce makes a hell of a good wing base. Add some ginger, some onion/scallion, garlic, sesame oil (and sesame seeds)…a little wasabi for an unexpected bite if desired/
