Chickenhawks at the SDMB

I figured. Still, you phrased the idea better than anyone who was actually arguing for[ it.

So, am I permitted to advocate war, while NI isn’t, somehow?**
You and New Iskander can advocate whatever you want, since that’s your right.

I, however, retain my right to think whatever I want about your respective opinions.

Do not mistake opining on someone’s chickenhawedness as an attempt to stifle them.

Among active duty military, Bush is favored over Kerry by over 20%. Among the readers of “Military Times”, the ratio is 4:1 for Bush. Among veterans in general, Bush enjoys a sizeable lead over Kerry. Veterans as a group give Bush a 60% favorability rating, compared to only 36% for Kerry.

So much for the theory that people who know war don’t support this one.

Being active duty doesn’t mean shit as far as knowing war. I’ll give a little more weight to a Congo based Médecins Sans Frontières worker’s view than a USMC clerk stationed in Sydney.

Irrelevant as it may be, I would like to see poll data concerning the opinions of personnel who have seen combat. Perhaps they are even more pro-Bush but I find the opinions of the majority of the US forces no more valuable than those of their civilian compatriots.
