Hey all, can someone answer a question?
Southwest has $30/one way fares from Detroit to Midway. Is Midway a good place to fly into and what should I estimate a taxi to cost?
Juniper200 was kind enough to point me to the Southwest site and I’m checking with Shadowfox to see if the $60 would be something she could do. Save my car some miles. Their schedules look good - we could get in around 2:15 p.m. on Saturday and leave around 3:00 or so on Sunday.

I’ve checked out this Southwest offer and the only available flights back to Detroit on Sunday leave at 8 a.m. The thought of partying all night and then getting up at 6 a.m. to get myself back to the airport does not sound like a good plan to me. I’m checking out some other sites though.
Actually, they might have updated, because I’m seeing a slew of available flights for you Michigan kids on Sunday (the 26th, right?), leaving at 8:20, 8:55 and 10:10, for instance.
I’ve got some pretty good options, too, but that would mean Mike would have to pick me up at the airport, and you’ve got your kids, right? One flight available would get me in around 8:something Friday night, but let me know.
You silly people. O’Hare has a trian that goes right to my house. Midway has a train that connects to the train that goes right to my house.
Cabs/buses/other trains/horse and carriages/piggyback rides available from there.

Shadow and I have decided we’re just going to drive. It’ll be just as cheap (if not cheaper) and I don’t mind driving.
We’re working on the parking issue, but we’ll see. I’ve got an email in to her to see when she prefers to arrive: before or after the Cubs game. I’m in the “before” crowd, but I don’t know how that works out for her as her husband is giving her a ride to my house from an 1.5 hours away and we’d have to leave my house by 8:00 a.m.
